• Billie Joe can play the guitar, mandolin, harmonica, drums, piano and the saxophone.

• Billie plays with Pinhead Gunpowder and has previously played with The Lookouts, Corrupted Morals, Rancid, The Influents, Blatz and Goodbye Harry.

• Billie and his wife, Adrienne, co-own a record company called Adeline Records that features bands such as AFI and The Living End.

• Mike owns a café/restaurant called Rudy's Can't Fail Café, named after a Clash song. It is located in Emeryville.

• In 'Longview' just after Billie Joe says "call me what you will", if you listen carefully, you can hear Mike call Billie 'whatyouwill'.

• The song 'Who Wrote Holden Caulfield?' is named after the character, Holden Caulfield, from J.D Salinger's book, 'The Catcher In The Rye'.

• Many bands thank Green Day in their thankyous, including AFI, Blink-182, Anti-Flag, The Ataris, Reel Big Fish, MxPx, Sum 41 and The Donnas.

• On VH1's '50 Greatest Album Covers', Dookie was #7.

• At age 15, Billie tried to go to an Operation Ivy concert, but he was refused entry. One of the members of the band heard he wasn't allowed in, so they came out and personally esorted him into the show.

• Billie Joe's birthday is on the same day as National Cabbage Day.

• Billie used to have a nose ring, but took it out because it kept getting caught on his shirt.
